I can't wait for Fox News, NY Post, Sean Hannity, etc., who are employed and owned by Rupert Murdoch to "come around" on global warming. I especially can't wait for all the GOP supporters to "come around." They will probably claim that their new stance shows their virtue, since they are able to admit that they were wrong all those years. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I read that Murdoch has signed on. This should be fun.

Now if only the earth will cooperate and keep getting hotter. But things don't always go in a straight line in the same direction forever.

I think I'm starting to "come around".
Obviously, we need global environmental regulations if only to help American business compete with the factories in polluting nations.

Thank God this year hasn't been as bad as last year yet.
There was a good chunk of time last summer that my family and I spent in the dark flat on our back in the only cool place of my house, my concrete floors.

Yep, I just bought a small evap cooler here. When I was a kid we had one small window unit and all of us slept in the living room when the weather got too hot.

My uncle used to sleep in the tub with a bit of water in it. Near Blythe CA, one of the hottest places in the US.

how's your swamp cooler working out? I had one of the small indoor ones, didn't do much good, but the big ones that you hang on the shady side of your house seem to work pretty damn well.
Arturo_Vandelay
Works nice. To work well it needs to bring in air at less than about 30% humidity, preferably under 10%. I open the sliding door and stick it back up to the screen, then hang a damp towel above it to cover the rest of the screen.

Sometime I use it in my study/bedroom about the same way, but it draws air from the uncooled part of the house.

Either way having a fan on you is a must, that's what cools YOU, as opposed to the air.
Catharsis
I'm still lost on this one.

How does a naturally occuring substance become a poison through the process of Al Gore talking about it?

And how much CO2 does an average volcano dump each minute of each day?

And why are we supposed to live on this planet, but leave no trace of ourselves? Are the aliens hunting us again?

Yeah...I'm just lost on this one.
Arturo_Vandelay
Algore's plane runs on wishes and it's contrail is fairy dust.

That's the only way to live on the planet without poisoning the environment.

Your name is an oxymoron in that case.

Maybe it will never happen and the sarcasm will remain just that.

Let's hope that was sarcasm.

He's an old time conservative. Fox probably isn't conservative enough for him.
