ahhh... you'll want a good scotch handy if you're watching Charlie Wilson's War;
American beer for The Big Lebowski;
burgers and milkshakes with Pulp Fiction or Hairspray...
there are some great films out there and they seem to bring their own particular "taste" with them:
or try to match Bogie cig for cig...
but I digress.
faves of late are August Rush, No Country for Old Men, Charlie Wilson's War...
"must sees" would have to include Kill Bill 2 and Sin City, which would both go well with tough stringy jerky and a cheap whiskey.

I just saw Kill Bill 2, with sugar free Red Vines. A relatively healthy candy snack.
Tom Hanks is good in almost anything. I just wish I had time to go to movies. Maybe after November.

Oooh, the Manson Family. Sounds like a good family film.
I got 24 movies last month with netflix. Transformers was good. The Invisible was OK, but kind of sad. The Simpsons wasn't that great. Knocked Up was funny enough. Live Free or Die Hard was really good.
Reno 911 was pretty good too. Sort of ad libbed but had some REALLY funny parts.
From My Queue. Not bad for $18.

Yes.Blade Runner. Harold and Maude. Mr Smith goes to Washington. Grapes of Wrath.
95% of the new er, movies are crap or crap rehashed. Seeing them in HDTV don't improve the crap content.
That said, I did enjoy the Kill Bills.

sorry but Blade Runner puts me to sleep, although so do Chinatown, one of my tops, along with THX1138...
I recently obtained a copy of The Long Goodbye, a terrific Altman film, before he got boring, and have also found Barbarella and Pretty Baby (yikes).
remember Robinson Crusoe on Mars? Jason and the Argonauts?
The Whole Nine Yards for big laughs... I'm a big Bruce Willis fan, and also enjoyed the newest Diehard, and also Unbreakable... he's great in most of his work- Sin City shows his tough guy hero character off real nice.

My wife loved Blade Runner, and despite seeing it several times I could just never get excited about the story. Neat effects for the time.
Unbreakable had a good twist. Willis Rocks. I like quite a few new movies, but there are more movies than ever so there's bound to be a lot of losers too. (depending on taste of course)

It was scary enough, but it was a little unfullfilling. Like they had a good idea for a movie but didn't know exactly where to go with it. Reminded me of Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer, but they didn't have an ending, where Henry did.

Yeah, but the plot line was designed to pander to the artsy types who love anything common folks will say was short on an ending. I'm not so dense that I don't understand how the snobs are about films. It wasn't bad, but I still think it's overrated just a bit. Bardem did a good job, but watch Henry:Portrait of a Serial Killer sometime. The sociopath movie isn't exactly new.

But it wasn't just a whim, he had his own reasoning and morality, twisted as it was. Flip the coin and win everything. "your husband could have saved you". Woody even alluded specifically to it so you couldn't miss it if you're a regular slob and didn't get the superior hollyweird deepthink.

I'm enjoying (surprisingly) a crappy copy of The Mist I had left over from unwatched joox downloads, and can say that Fallen (Denzel W), though absurd in storyline, is very well done...
a few I've found online include Barbarella, Pretty Baby, Lolita, The Tin Drum ( a must see), and Ken Russel's The Devils.
