One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One man come here to justify
One man to overthrow
In the name of love!
One man in the name of love
In the name of love!
What more? In the name of love!

One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resists
One man washed on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kiss

In the name of love!
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love!
What more? In the name of love!

...nobody like you...there's nobody like you...

Mmm...mmm...mmm...
Early morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride

In the name of love!
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love!
What more in the name of love?
In the name of love!
What more in the name of love...

you marginalize yourself rather well

Just out of curiosity, have you ever said anything good about the US?

Come to think of it, anything good about anything except a couple movies?

That ain't what you mean at all. Do you have any balls to say what you really mean?

Ah yes, the lefties loved to use the phrase "true believers" for bushie followers. Now their man Obama passes the largest spending bill in American History and they admit that no one even had time to read it first. Talk about Blind Faith True Believers.

It's exactly what I mean. Farmers, hunters and backwoods folks that grew up poor know about using everything. City boys like Barry know how to shoot the three.

What's local?

I'm local and as far as viscera I have eaten I would say heart and liver.
Mizilus
After all.. we arent talking about sausages, blood sausage, haggis, sheeps eyeballs, monkeys brains, fish heads, testicles or blubber.

No, you said chitlins. I'm po folk and I wouldn't have a clue where to get chitlins let alone how best to prepare them.

Is Michelle from your home town/state?
Mizilus
I like this. This is good.

Conversation and debate are an integral part of resolution.

She's from Al Capone's home. Barry's chosen state.

Some guys I played football loved chitlins. I ate to be part of the crowd (and to show I wasn't stuck up), but it isn't my first choice in food. I still bet I've had more than Barry, and I bet he's had a lot more lobster than me.

Weird. You see if I think of Al Capone and Chicago I think of Linguini or maybe Veal Parmesan.

Do you think if the first lady thought of Al Capone and cuisine her first thoughts would be chitlins?

Just the same, I wonder if you and the first lady didn't grow up in the same town or something how it would be that you know what she grew up eating.

I just picked the first po folk food that came to mind. Something from my own past. At the time I didn't know where she came from. I wikied it. Despite the hint of victimhood she's no poor girl with reason to complain about the US. It's done well for her.

LOL

Everyone can see what you said and it's obvious what you meant. Especially in your evasiveness.

The tell will be if anyone else comments, who they are, and what they say. How do you feel about your chances?

In my experience republicans never ever criticise racist comments from their fellow republicans. Hell, they never criticize or disagree amongst themselves ever. I've never once seen a pair of the local republicans debate anything. Not one thing. And I've been here ten years or so. Where were you debating racism ten years ago?

I'm pretty happy about it.

The farking morons in Congress are, well, farking morons.

The more power that can be transferred to the Executive Branch, the better.

Especially considering the President is term-limited.

The Legislative Branch gave over half of their power to the Third Branch of the Legislature already.

I'd like to see the Second Branch's power further limited. The Second Branch seems more than happy to transfer power to the Executive branch and the Third branch.

Just As God Made Them

QUOTE
For some reason (and I don't know what my motivation was) I jumped onto the Cato Institutes live-blogging of Our Great and Glorious Socialist Leader's Edict To The Masses. Needless to say, since he was talking about the government actually doing something instead of waiting for the invisible hand to give us all an unregulated reach-around with happy ending, they were unimpressed.

It's times like this that remind me of the differences between "conservatives" and "libertarians". Conservatives are, through no fault of their own, grim social maladroits incapable of thinking or drawing outside of the lines, constricted as they are by child-like notions of "that's the way it always been", "different = wrong", and whatever religious hoodoo was drummed into their inelastic brains during their joyless and awkward adolescence.

Libertarians, on the other hand, are just assholes.

I Hate Your Politics

QUOTE
No, I don’t know what they are. And no, I probably don’t know who you are, either. Really, those two points are immaterial (no offense). As it turns out about, about 46% of you are liberal, 46% of you are conservative, and the rest of you just want your guns, drugs and brothels (here in the US, we call them folks “libertarians”).

Each of you carries baggage from your political affiliation, and all of that baggage has a punky smell to it, like one of your larger species of rodent crawled in and expired in your folded underwear. Listening to any of you yammer on about the geopolitical situation is enough to make one want to melt down one’s dental fillings with a beeswax candle and then jam an ice pick into the freshly-exposed nerve, just to have something else to think about. It’s not so much that politics brings out the worst in people than it is that the worst in people goes looking for something to do, and that usually ends up being politics. It’s either that or setting fires in trashcans.

In the spirit of fairness, and of completeness, let me go down the list and tell you what I hate about each major branch of political thinking.

Continued at link. Pretty funny.

Funny, but I've found hard-line liberals are mostly still joyless and inelastic. Sure, when they're drinking and smoking pot they think they aren't social maladroits, but in the morning when they sober up they're just as unhappy as they were the day before.

President Bush Obama nixes U.S. Participation in U.N. Racism Conference

U.S. will not attend U.N. conference on racism
Fri Feb 27, 2009 2:15pm EST Email | Print | Share| Reprints | Single Page[-] Text [+]
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States will not attend a United Nations conference on racism that critics say will be a forum to criticize Israel and will no longer attend planning sessions for it, a U.S. official said on Friday.

"We will not attend," the official said.

A U.S. delegation attended consultations earlier this month on the World Conference Against Racism, scheduled for April in Geneva, Switzerland, although Israel has called for a boycott and Canada has said it will not attend.

But the United States has decided it will not be able to improve the final document produced by the conference and will not attend, another official said.
