Briggs made a great stop on that 4th. The layoff didn't hurt the O too much. Should be a great game next week.
Arturo_Vandelay
SD is run by idiots. You have the best RB in the game. The ball, tie score, 4+ minutes left, 2nd and 4 after a 6 yard run. The only thing you can't afford to do is give Tom Brady time and the ball. If LT gets half his average you can easily get the first, kill a minute, and still have plenty of time to get in field goal range, leaving the Pats no time.

So they pass twice, turn the ball over, give up a nice drive, and now most likely give up at least a FG with only 2 minutes to go.

They really deserve to lose. Should keep LT hungry for next year at least.

Every game I've seen SD lose is because they don't use LT in the clutch. Idiots.
davis像
He is the man.

Now it's Colts v Patriots and Bears v Saints.

Grossman got 282 yards with one interception. That ball went off Mohammeds hands.
Arturo_Vandelay
I hate the colts. Don't own or know any Saints players to root for, so I guess I have to root for the Bears and Pats.
davis像
Da Bears!!!

Brian_Lambchops
If Grossman doesn't get gross, the Bears should win it all. Brady is a miracle worker, but the Bears one-two punch at running back and their defense have the advantage.
Celt Cahill
My youngest lives in New Orleans, and informs me that all the witches are hexing the bears night and day.

It is amazing how much the Saints are an impact on the morale down there.

yep I was yelling at the tv....He was making 7 yards a crack!

I knew that the only team that could beat San Diego was San Diego, and they beat themselves.

Dropped passes, not giving the ball to LT, turnovers and a stupid penalty.

You cant do that against guys like Brady and expect to win.

As a Raider fan I was a little bit satisfied, but as an LT fan I was disgusted. I'd be asking for a trade today. I heard he wouldn't talk after the game.

More than that. He was just a bit upset when the a few on the opposing team did a dance in the middle of the field that one of the Chargers (Merriman) usually does. He looked like he was ready to fight.

I saw his interview. He wasn't too happy, but I assume you don't always SAY ALL of what you feel. 2nd and 4 is money for LT. They can't stop him at four from the goal line stacked to do the job, no way he'd get stopped in 2 tries for four at midfield. Same with Turner. If they wanted to pass they could have done it under 2 minutes.

So, what's the consensus for the Saints here ?

I have a vested interest in my little girl's morale and financial independance of me.

Wait a minute now. laugh.gif laugh.gif Is she betting the house on the Saints?

I don't know what to tell you. If the good Bears show up they are doomed. But that isn't a given by any stretch of the imagination. If it weren't the Bears I'd cheer NO. If we lose to them, I hope they take it all.

IF we lose to them. laugh.gif laugh.gif

ps: those running backs are great.

The have a seasoned QB, going against a fairly young QB. Decent team on both sides of the ball, but the Saints play in a dome, while Soldier Field is out in the cold. I'd pray for good weather. They have a shot. Best chance is Rex having one of his occassional bad days. Find a way to pressure him that he isn't used to. A good time to do something that isn't on your game films.

I couldn't believe it. The genius with the headbutt penalty really must take the cake.

Unbelievable . . .
davis像
Pressuring Rex pretty much covers it. But if it's snow?

I went to a Bears v Tampa game on January 1, 2000. It was 53 degrees. We lost.

Got to see a Tampa fan get an expensive beer shower and get thrown out though.

Interception, fumble, recovery by NE, while SD was still up by 8. That was huge, as well.
Arturo_Vandelay
Last good day of football. Traffic was AWFUL yesterday and I just know it must have been everyone out shopping so they could stay in today and watch the last of the playoffs. Tedy Bruschi playing for the Pats and Lance Briggs for the Bears. America's new team the Saints.

I'm tired of Manning and the Colts, but the Pats have been in the SB a lot latey. Not sure who to root for in the NFC, but I have to go Pats in the AFC.

This year NO is Cinderella, but who knows if she makes it to the ball.
davis像
Go Bears!!!
Brian_Lambchops
I have to pull for the Saints. I have kin down that way, and they deserve some good news, after a great turnaround on and off the field.

Brees versus Grossman is a pivotal matchup, and Grossman doesn't have the experience yet. Should make up for home field advantage and make it about an even match.
davis像
For the life of me I don't know why the Bears don't line up Thomas and Benson at he same time. NO does it with Bush and McAlister and it kicks ass.

I always wonder about that too. As well as why nobody runs the fullback anymore. The FB used to lead the Raiders rushing many a time. Toss in a halfback that can throw, like LT, and you got trouble on defense. There is NO imagination in the NFL it seems. Nobody wants to get second guessed. (or killed by angry bettors)

McAllister is almost a fullback already. Man, he is a load.

Thomas is a good blocker. he's strong as hell.

It'll be yells of "Deuce" vs "Moose". lol

Bradshaw says it all hinges on how Grossman starts. I think he may be right.

Got to get my snacks and vcr ready. see you at halftime.
Arturo_Vandelay
Excellent. Right before I sat down I said go deep second play. Should loosen things up for the run.
davis像
I don't think I've ever seen two announcers so biased against a team.

Granted, Grossman hasn't been outstanding but these guys are even criticizing the D. Maybe this last strip will silence their criticism.
Arturo_Vandelay
Benson looks pretty good. I'm hoping next year he gets even better. I picked him up for nothing and I expect a fantasy stud for years. I have Muhammad too, but he's not really a big play guy for the Bears.
davis像
Benson is good. So is Mark Anderson.

But Tillman couldn't cover Gary Coleman on crutches. He is undoubtedly the worse starter we have on D.

They did show one good defensive play by him.
davis像
I wish someone would snipe Tillman from the stands. What a worthless waste of a uniform.

He's given up a lot of crucial plays all year. he is our weak link. Watch them. If they get a completion it's against Tillman. They're working on him. And doing well.
